Life Skills Instructor

As Life Skills Instructor, Mr. Hiram teaches the three-week classroom component of Reconcile’s job training program. A New Orleans native, Mr. Hiram taught in the New Orleans Public School system for 14 years. He is also the co-founder of “I Am My Brothers Keeper,” a local nonprofit committed to youth development. After Katrina, he served as the coordinator and team leader for Louisiana Spirit Harmony, providing mental health resources in Baton Rouge and its surrounding parishes. Mr. Hiram says, “I am honored to be part of an effort to give back to the city that I love so dearly. Café Reconcile has given me the opportunity to serve my community and to encourage young adults to be positive and influential citizens.”
